We had an epic stay at The Log House--words can't even describe how magical it was. Met lots of wildlife, had cozy indoor time, spectacular outdoor baths complete with birdsong soundtrack. The property was divine in and out. The hosts were excellent as well. All six members of our family can't wait to return to explore more waterfalls and more of the Great Ocean Road.

The Log House is absolutely gorgeous - run, don’t walk to book - you won’t regret it! Beautifully stylish, very comfortable, well-equipped and set in a stunning environment, this is a wonderful getaway. We were just our family of 4 in the end but it’s perfectly set up for two families. Thank you Emma, for a fantastic 4 days. I hope we’ll be back one day soon.

A perfect family escape. Location is amazing. Surrounded by rolling hills but close to the Coast and Otway Rainforest. The furnishings are so thoughtfully selected, insta worthy yet welcoming and comfortable. Highly recommend and would definitely book again, if I could only find a vacancy!

We had a beautiful 3 night stay at Emma’s log cabin and we loved it! The decor is just beautiful and we found the house very cosy and comfortable in freezing weather - great bedding & an amazing fireplace. Perfect place to be present with our family and relax. Sunsets at Johanna beach were pretty special and we experienced some gorgeous encounters with the local wildlife. You won’t regret staying here!

“This place is totally “hygge” as the Danish say. Cozy, comfortable, and warm. It’s very well appointed, the linen is sublime and it is gorgeously decorated. Emma was a pleasure to deal with and nothing was a a hassle. I highly recommend it for an Otways escape!”

“The log cabin was so great, beautifully fitted out with everything we needed and really warm and comfy. We loved the wood fire and all of the bedrooms had outlooks onto the garden. The towels and bed linen were really nice and the kitchen so well equipped with everything we needed including a great coffee maker.”

“We LOVED staying at the Log House - a true Otway oasis. We enjoyed every inch of the log house, inside and out. A perfect escape to unplug and unwind...and a short drive into Apollo bay.Great living and leisure spaces for adults and children, and endless firewood which added to the cosiness. Great heating and a great surprise to find that (stylish and comfy) bedding and towels were included in all the rooms. Minor matter re: temporary water shortage as a result of heavy rainfall triggering the water pump switch but both Emma and Simon responded quickly and it was resolved instantly with a simple flick of the switch. Our daughters didn’t want to leave, and neither did we. We will certainly be back again! Loved the log house.”

“The Log House @ Johanna is a rare gem!! Quiet farmland area so you feel completely secluded but close enough to Apollo Bay and all the other treats along the Great Ocean Road. The decor and style of the cabin is what sets it apart - homely with it’s extra throw rugs and comfy bean bags but so stylish too with scandi-style fixtures and fittings - even had an extra dining room and log fire. It was so classily fitted out and had all the ammenities of a classy apartment or hotel. We would definitely stay there again. It was so much more than a log cabin!!”

“Emma's cabin was impeccable! All the furniture is well selected and very comfortable especially the beds and couches. The kitchen is probably one of the most well equipped homes we have visited - this is specially appreciated since it's a little out of town. Internet and reception is a little patchy but expected, and we spent our time outdoors and in front of the fireplace instead. We would love to come back. Highly recommend.”

“Emma's place is a beautiful spot in Johanna - and a quick drive to the beach for amazing sunsets. There were some lovely spots to sit and take in the bird life. We saw Eastern Yellow Robins, Gang Gangs, Wedgetail Eagles plus lots more during our stay. We needed to contact Emma for some assistance on our first night and she was very prompt in getting back to us. Thank you!”

“We had a glorious stay at Emma’s log cabin. It’s quiet and secluded, just what we need. The beach just down the road is stunning and we walked along it every single sunset while there. It’s not safe for swimming but one of the most beautiful spots. Our kids loved the bunk room, their own space with games and toys. This left us to enjoy the peace and quiet. The cabin is a drive from the shops but Emma suggested bringing food supplies which we did, the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook meals for the family during our stay. We look forward to coming back again one day! ”

“Our time at the Log House gave us the respite that we'd long craved. Johanna is a beautiful spot - away from the madness of more famous parts of the Great Ocean Road and the Log House became a great base from which to explore parts of the coast that we've not visited before. The house is well set up, with plenty of space to come together as a family, as well as plenty of places to sneak away for some down time with a book. We met the resident koalas, and enjoyed kicking back on the lush (and expansive) lawn.”

“The Log House is a beautiful getaway on some of Victoria’s greenest and most beautiful coast. The house itself is gorgeous with spacious grounds around. Look out for the resident Koala, Jimmy. We couldn’t find him but we heard him sometimes. Cannot recommend it highly enough for a bit of space and serenity.”
